Nirvana Organic Farm Inn is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Li River Scenic Zone in Yangshuo, China. Nestled at the foot of Yuanbao Mountain and famously depicted on the 20 RMB banknote, we are surrounded by a 270-degree bend of the Li River. Recognized by Lonely Planet as a recommended eco-farm stay in Xingping for the past 8 years, Nirvana is a place you can trust for a truly unique experience.
Who are we?
Our family, led by Stone (the nature name of Leo) and his family, is at the heart of Nirvana Organic Farm Inn. In 2023, we embarked on an epic journey with our 10-year-old daughter Miaomiao, cycling across the Eurasian continent from Laos to Albania. We journey through Thailand, Bangladesh, Nepal, Iran, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Montenegro, a journey that lasted seven months. Afterwards, we spent two weeks volunteering in Kenya, working with the Maasai Mara community to teach local village children. As avid adventurers, we want to share our love for nature and the most unique outdoor experiences of Yangshuo with everyone who visits.
Our professional background
Stone is a National Certified Climbing Guide as well as a seasoned software engineer. He specialized in network security for Linux operating systems in Beijing. In 2002, he completed a 1,350 km cycling journey from Lhasa to Mount Kailash, a life-changing experience that led him to seek new meaning in life. His passion for rock climbing brought him to Yangshuo, China’s most famous climbing destination known for its breathtaking karst landscape.
Our educational philosophy
Living in Yangshuo brought us closer to nature and inspired our passion for natural education. We traveled to Ananda Village in the United States to learn from Joseph Cornell, the “Father of Nature Education,” about his “Flow Learning” method. This approach is practiced by over one million educators worldwide, focusing on engaging people with nature to inspire and educate.
Our ecological vision
In 2015, Stone took a Permaculture Design Course and met the founder of Nirvana Organic Farm Inn, Ms. Guo. Since 2016, we have been working together to build Nirvana into a livable, eco-friendly paradise where people can experience the authentic charm and unique way of life close to nature.
